2007年第12屆人機介面國際研討會 (12th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction) 於2007年7月22日至27日於北京國際會議中心 (Beijing International Convention Center) 舉行。人機介面國際研討會是2年一次的國際性大型會議，世界各國HCI相關的研究人員、教授、博碩士研究生與實務領域的專業人員，都會齊聚一堂，交換及分享最新的研究方向、成果與心得。本次會議共計有來自76個國家/地區，超過2,300人參加。

該研討會的論文集由Springer出版，並收錄於the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) and Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence (LNAI) 資料庫中。

本次研討會的主要的研究領域包含了Ergonomics and Health Aspects of Work with Computers, Human Interface and the Management of Information, Human-Computer Interaction, Engineering Psychology and Cognitive Ergonomics, Universal Access in Human-Computer Interaction, Virtual Reality, Usability and Internationalization, Online Communities and Social Computing, Augmented Cognition, Digital Human Modeling等。在大會開幕式中，由Takeo Kanade教授所主講的 “Digital Human Modeling and Quality of Life Technology”，內容相當的豐富，同時也引導出一些值得研究與思考的議題。

本人此次在Online Communities and Social Computing的領域中，發表了一篇論文。主題為 “The Differences Between the Influences of Synchronous and Asynchronous Modes on Collaborative Learning Project of Industrial Design”。在發表後與主持人和與會的學者專家進行討論並交換心得與意見，對於自己的研究有很大的助益。除了發表外，在會中也利用時間聽取其他相關領域研究者的研究發表與展示，這些內容除了人機互動的領域外，也包含了與設計和高齡者相關的研究，藉此吸取相關的知識，並找尋未來可發展及研究的方向與方法。
